Tooth Decay

Date: 7th Dec 2020 @ 10:41am

This week, Class 3 have been investigating the effects of different drinks on their teeth. They made predictions based on their own prior knowledge as to which liquid would cause the most damage. We used boiled eggs to see how the fizzy drinks would alter the appearance of the shell, which represented the enamel on our teeth.

They set up their own fair tests and waited a week with the eggs plunged in their respective liquids. They were surprised to see that vinegar had quite a reaction to the egg shell, causing it to crack and bubble whilst also turning the egg into a bouncy ball! Super investigation, Class 3.
