General Data Protection Regulation

In order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, the school has updated its privacy notice which gives information about how we collect, hold and share pupil information. Some data is for statutory purposes for the Department for Education (DfE) and Lancashire Local Authority.  Other data is collected to ensure that our school provision remains outstanding. We do not share information about our pupils with anyone without consent unless the law and our policies allow us to do so. We continue to ensure that we use and share pupil data responsibly for the following reasons:

to support pupil learning
to monitor and report on pupil progress
to provide appropriate care
to assess the quality of our services
to comply with the law regarding data sharing
If you need more information about how the DfE collect and use your information, please visit the DfE website by clicking the link here.

Data Protection Officer contact details:

Our Data Protection Officer is Dr C. Lomas who can be contacted via the school office on 01695 622333 or [email protected].  The role of the Data Protection Officer is to oversee and monitor the school’s data protection procedures, and to ensure they are compliant with the GDPR.

Consent for photographs

Occasionally, we may take photographs of the children at our school. We may use these images in our school’s prospectus or in other printed publications that we produce, as well as on our website or school media accounts. We will not use personal details or full names of any child in a photographic image or video on our website or online. Historic photographs will remain on our school website and social media feeds.

We will ask for special permission for photographs to be taken if the media are in attendance at school.

As parents/guardians, photographs taken of your own child (for example in assemblies) which include other pupils should only be for personal and family use and should not be published online.

Please speak to the school office if you do not want your child to have their picture taken for use on the school website and online.

It is your responsibility to let the school know if you want to withdraw permission.
