Dinosaur Rocks 🦖🦕🦖🦕

Lesson: EYFS

Class: Class 1 Year: 2020 - 2021

Class one have had a fantastic time learning all about dinosaurs. On the first day we were surprised to see a dinosaur egg in the class with a letter asking us to keep it safe. A week later it hatched,Miss Davies and Mrs Jones couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw a diplodocus walking round the classroom. Our roleplay area was transformed into a dinosaur world which they could learn all about them. The children were able to excavate and look for fossils, and become a dinosaur by wearing one of our masks. We also researched how many teeth a TRex had and had lots of fun when we had to find the teeth to create the size of its mouth. We were all amazed on how we could all fit inside it. For our construction activity the children brought in their own junk art and created their favourite dinosaur. We also made dinosaur bones using our own sour dough bread recipe which smelled and tasted delicious. During our music and movement session we made our own dinosaur feet and danced the ‘Dinosaur Stomp’ To end our topic we learned how volcanoes from around the world have erupted over the years and created our own to experience it.
