Class: Maple Class Year: 2026 - 2027

As part of our topic " Forces and Magnets", Maple had a great afternoon investigating friction and gravity. Posed with the question;"How do objects travel on different surfaces and why do some surfaces slow objects down?", the children observed as we sent a car down a ramp with multiple different surfaces - none, carpet, bubble wrap, sandpaper and kitchen roll. The children learned, the rougher the surface the more friction occured, causing the object to slow down.
