C3 Super Scientists - A Snapshot!

Lesson: Science

Just a little snapshot into the science done by C3 last term. The "Materials"  chemistry topic, for last term and this one,  lends itself to some exciting science lessons. The children have investigated separating mixtures of materials; evaporation; dissolving and reversible/irreversible changes. The focus has been on practical investigations, the need for accurate scientific measurements and accurate recording.  We have worked hard to improve our understanding of the need for a fair test. The children have been able to pose their own  questions and then devise an investigation to seek out the answers. They have  definitely risen to the challenge and had fun!

The  chemistry challenge continues next term with our "Solids, Liquids and Gases" topic - coupled with some fabulous new equipment including data loggers and digital probe thermometers. Our next investigation centres around solids and changes that can occur. Which chocolate will melt the quickest and at what temperature? Dark, milk or white chocolate?
